DEDUCTIBLES AND TODAYS WINDSHIELDS

Today's windshields come with many different options, which can include, Heads Up Display, Solar Coatings, Built in Antennas, Rain Sensors, Light Sensors, Humidity Sensors, Condensation Sensors, Lane Departure Warning Systems, Forward Collision Alert Systems,  Lane Keep Assist Systems, Collision Mitigating Braking, High Beam Assist, City Collision Mitigation, Acoustic Interlayers, Intelligent Collision Braking, Auto Lamp Control, Active Cruise Control W/Stop and Go, Lane Keep Assist with Side Collision Avoidance, Traffic Sign Recognition, Adaptive Cruise Control, Pre-Collision Braking, Infrared Interlayer, Pedestrian Avoidance and Heated Windshields.

As you can see, the more options that your windshield may possibly have, the more expensive they can be. And the vehicles with windshields that have ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistant Systems) camera's may require recalibration and that alone can almost double the cost of a replacement. So it doesn't take long for one of today's windshields to reach $1000 or more. So if your vehicle has any of the options mentioned above, especially with ADAS, it's important to keep a lower deductible as to keep your out of pocket expense at bay.

And what most people don't realize is, is that the older we get, the more friendly our comprehensive deductibles become to us, meaning you can go from a $500 deductible to a $100 deductible or even a $0 deductible for very little to no increase whatsoever on your monthly premium. We've seen some of our customers only see their monthly premiums increase maybe $2 more a month to have a $0 deductible while some see no increase changing it to a $0 deductible at all. 

So if you currently have a $500 or even a $1000 comprehensive deductible, give your insurance company or agent a call and discuss changing your deductible to a much lower one before it's too late and you end up with an expensive windshield replacement that your insurance won't pay for or will only partly cover the cost.
